What type of food to serve at wedding, the bride is cooking it all.?

For my wedding I am going to cook all the food... so I dont want anyhting to time consuming but yet I want it to be good... like I thought about chili but it would take awhile to cut up all the onion, tomatos, carrots, and such... we are planning on spending around $200 but would like it cheap as possable, we are thinking so far cocktail meatballs, bonless ribs in sauce, I am also making my wedding cake as i dont like store bought cakes.
I dont rellay want an expesnive wedding and i really dont think my wedding is going to be stressful... like people get way to involved into wanting to make their wedding perfect and i guess I am just not hat way.... i really dont care and yes their will be a place to sit down... but to me the wedding is like getting baptized you basically have already done it this is just to show it.

First of all, don't listen to the nay sayers. It's your wedding and I do know about a tight budget.
I catered my own wedding too. 150 people. Yeah, it was a little stressfull but well worth it. Saved alot of money too! Timing is everything. Be well prepared!

I had my husband, and 2 friends help me prepare. We were able to locate a local church that had a big kitchen and they let us use it to prepare the food, a friend of ours went to that church and was able to get the use for free. "Check around".....
We went on Thursday night and prepared everything we could that would be freezeable or could tolerate 2 day's in the refrig. (We got married on a Saturday)
We also had our wedding at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, so that gave us time to get stuff ready in the am.

What we had on the menu; Salad that came prepared in the bags. (One Choice) Chicken breasts (from-frozen in the bag) with a mushroom gravy (big cans of cream of mushroom soup, but only 1/2 the milk in it), Garlic mashed potato's, corn or mixed veges and dinner rolls. (2nd Choice) Shredded beef in gravy (with rolls/buns), baked beans, and choice of veges. Most of this they could mix together if they want. It was buffet style.

I had bought the cheap buffet pans with the gel heat at Big Lots (family dollar, dollar general) and used them to keep everything in (easy clean up-toss it all away)!
If you have a Sam's club near you, that was the best place for me to get most of my food because it's in bulk. I got the shredded beef in gravy - prepared that way - from a local meat market. Very easy to do and it tasted great.

I did have my cakes (4) made by a friend who did them as a hobby. That I didn't have to worry about.. you might want to rethink that.
Where I live, the Wal-mart Bakery has awesome cakes. Check that out. Maybe get a big sheet cake or 2 and have a small one for you and your hubby to cut....

Something that might help too, if you have close siblings-friends who have steady bf/gf or people who are early because of having someone stand up for you and they don't know what to do, see if they will help you set that stuff up, they will be thankful because they had something to do other than to stand around-wondering what to do.
