With the release of the film adaptation of "New Moon" coming out this November, Twilight mania is finding new life this fall. If you are a devoted fan of the series, take advantage of this time to plan your own themed party based on your favorite series. If you are a newbie and are just looking for the next hot things for parties this fall, here is some background info. Twilight is a book series by Stephanie Meyers, that is about the romance between a teenager and vampire who goes to her school. The couple has to struggle with their own insecurities and the strength of their feelings while also dealing with the consequences of a mortal being privy to the secret world of the supernatural. Whether you are a fan or newcomer, here are some great party tips to help you get started.

Use the book covers of the series as inspiration for your decoration colors. If you look at the official covers for the Twilight series, the colors used are white, black, and red. Use these colors in all your party decorations from balloons and streamers to centerpieces and wall decorations. To take it a step further, get blown up posters of the covers and use them as wall decorations.

The next place to draw inspiration from is the Movie adaptation of Twilight. The movie did a great job picking the cast to best embody the characters in the book. A great idea is to use movie posters with images of the characters also as decorations. You take it up a notch with life sized cut-out of the characters. This way you can have your guests take photos with them. Another innovative idea is to take promotional pictures from the film and photo shop yourself in with your favorite characters. These will be certain to impress your guests, especially if they are fans.

Another decoration idea is to use the shapes from the book covers to guide your decorations. A great example I saw was a centerpiece that used Tulips and stemmed apples on a red and white chess board set. These are three of the main images on the book covers. You can also take it a step further with apple shaped candles. Your guests will feel like they stepped into the book covers.

Another design idea comes straight from the first book, Twilight. At the end of the first book Bella and Edward go to prom. So try thinking about copying the prom look from the movie and as describe in the book to add extra glitz to your event. You will need more floral arrangements formed in arches and scattered around the party area. You will need twinkle lights to add to the atmosphere.

Music in itself can be a decoration adding to the mood of the event. A great place to start is to go the Stephanie Meyers website. She has playlists of all the songs that she used inspire her as she wrote the books. You can also use the movie soundtrack. Don't stop there. Also add tracks of your favorite songs that you wished were part of the soundtrack. A personal favorite I think would be appropriate is Evanescence. You can also borrow from the sound tracks of other shows like Moonlight. This show while it was cancelled has one of the best TV soundtracks I've ever come across.

I absolutly love that theme! A bunch of ideas are running through my head like having old movie posters in nice frames like marilyn monroe. mabey some old cameras on tables, film rolls. you could make pavers with handprints of the bride and groom and have theme sign their name, that would be cute. have a red carpet for the entrance, with the velvet draping enclosures , not sure what they are called, but they keep the crowd out.

and just use an aisle runner...is this okay? The church is pretty and pew decorations tend to be tacky looking, plus I'm on a budget.

Pew bows are kind of outdated in my opinion. I'd definitely go without them.

Goldfish in wedding decoration?

I am thinking about putting about six Gerber daisies in a large rectangular vase for my table centerpieces at my wedding. I want to put a gold fish in there as well but I'm worried about them dying. They would only be in there for half a day at most. What do you think? Any advise?

Wow, these answerers are paranoid. It's only half a day, your goldfish will be fine. And if the fish isn't fine, then who cares? It's your WEDDING. You should be able to do whatever you want. A six dollar goldfish (I assume you'll get a pretty one) is an acceptable loss for your WEDDING, for crying out loud. It's just a fish; where are their priorities? And it'll probably be fine anyway (I've rescued fish from worse) (carnivals, fairs, Walmart, all of them treat the fish worse for weeks and weeks than you will for half a day).

Honey, if that's what you want for your wedding, do it. The fish will be fine, and you only get one chance for your wedding. Have it like you want it.

if u can make it at the beach and play volly ball der and play sand basket balll and put a jumper der instead of a trampoline n try to get a jumper with idk something to do with graduation and hav a barbcue and have a splashing contest n hav a fashion show with swim suits and hav water ballon contest and hav a lil sand box with shovels in it for lil kids also hav a sand castle contest idk.. more but if u cant afford this cuz of the econmy it might b expensive

Any traditional Indian wedding customs?

My fiance and I are planning our wedding. I am having one problem though, I am Italian by heritage, and the first member of my family to marry out of my families heritage. I am marrying an indian man, whos parents and a large part of family come from india. I would very much like to incorporate some of there traditions/customs into our wedding. He has asked not to have a tradtional ceremony so it would mainly be things for the reception. We are having an Indian jungle theme (5 ft trees made of flowers entirely of flowers all around the room and 3 ft trees for centerpieces. We will be having monkeys, frogs, birds, etc all made of flowers each table has a diffrent animal.) But this is just decoration, what can I do to make his mother more comfortable and happy with our wedding?

Well, I'm Indian and my fiance is caucasian. We're having some Indian elements in our wedding. I'll be wearing an Indian lehenga choli I'm purchasing online. My wedding attendants (I'm not having bridesmaids) will be wearing saris. We're planning on having henna.

We also don't want the whole traditional thing (it's way too much and way too expensive). We're also playing Indian music for the reception. We're also purchasing Indian invitations.

Hm, I think that's all I can think of. If you want, you can do your wedding under a mandap, which is sort of a canopy/tent for the bride and groom and priest and parents. He could wear Indian clothing (sherwani).

I also have to agree with the vegetarian thing. Many Hindus are vegetarian, so you'll have to be careful to have food for them. Our wedding is entirely vegetarian, because both my fiance and I are vegetarians for ethical reasons, but we're not really having many Indians come to the wedding (it's a really small wedding).

I'm curious how this jungle theme will work, it sounds weird, but I'm sure you have a better picture of it than I do His mom probably will feel odd about the decorations, because usually Indian weddings involve tons of flowers and images of Ganesh (that elephant-headed god that everyone's seen). Most Hindu weddings I've been to use tons of flowers, and there isn't really a theme, so his mom might feel weirded about by animals made of flowers.

Does anyone have wedding decoration ideas with out using tape, tacks etc.?

I'm the maid of honor for my sister's wedding, and the reception hall she's rented does not allow you to attach anything to the walls. (No tape, tacks, pins, etc.) We are trying to think of some ideas for decorations around the room other than balloons (our brother is allergic to latex and we can't find any mylar or plastic balloons that would make this look more like a wedding than a birthday party.) that's easy on the budget. We have the table settings already figured out, we were just trying to get some ideas on what to put around the room, since we can't hang anything from the walls. All ideas are welcome. Thanks!

How about some big potted plants decorated with white lights? I don't know if Target still sells them but they use to have nice sized potted plants that weren't to expensive. You could also get white branches in vases if the plants are out of the question.
